Robert Jack Rimes, III

Robert Rimes is a seasoned electrical engineer and computer scientist with nearly two decades of experience at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where he worked on robotics, space simulation, and critical aerospace programs alongside leading engineers in the field.

His career spans high-impact projects in quantum computing, military systems, and advanced communications, uniquely blending deep technical expertise with a lifelong passion for music and creative collaboration.

Robert's Full Bio

Robert is a highly accomplished professional who pursued his passion for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University, Texas State University, and the University of Houston. Following his academic endeavors, Robert dedicated nearly two decades to working at the prestigious Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where he specialized in NASA robotics and space simulation projects. During his time at NASA, Robert had the privilege of collaborating with some of the industry's most brilliant engineers, instilling in him the invaluable lessons of teamwork and compassion for those around him. His experience extended to contract software programming for the Army at Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Sill in Oklahoma, providing him with opportunities to work on a broad range of projects across the country.

In addition to his government work, Robert's career has seen him engaged in various challenging projects, including quantum computing in Maryland, submarine systems in Pennsylvania, and missile systems in California. He worked on a space systems insight and oversight committee for NASA, Space X, and Blue Origin, showcasing his expertise in the aerospace industry. Robert's diverse portfolio also includes collaborating with Boeing on developing new Navy communications systems in San Diego, California. He ventured into the realm of military drone programs in Huntsville, Alabama, and contributed his skills to the NASA Marshal Space Flight Center MARS (SLS) mission program. Moreover, Robert actively participated in significant projects such as the NASA capsule parachute test team program and the creation of NASA 3D animations and simulations.

His career journey took an unexpected turn in 1990 when he found himself in a Houston recording studio, leading to the formation of a music group for cruise line entertainment. This serendipitous encounter paved the way for a meeting with Tim Coleman on Royal Cruise Line in London, England, based on a mutual interest in MIDI sequencing technology. Overall, Robert's professional trajectory exemplifies his exceptional talent, dedication, and versatility across multiple industries, from aerospace engineering to music and entertainment.
